When it comes to choosing a location, variety matters. Interesting textures, thoughtful backdrops, and good light can completely transform your photos. That said, don’t overthink it — a great photographer with a strong eye and positive energy can create magic almost anywhere.

The Capitol
The GA state capitol building used to be a hidden gem, but the past year it has become increasingly popular to shoot at. They do now require a reservation in advanced and a $40 fee. Sometimes they are booked up for months in advance. But it's well worth the wait if you can secure a spot! Scroll through our gallery for ideas and inspirations!

Your Wedding Venue
Most people don't realize your wedding venue will let you shoot engagement photography there for free!!! Usually they require a reservation in advance and it's limited to weekdays, but check with your venue coordinator for options and availability! This example is from one of our recent clients who are getting married at Mystic Acres Barn in Griffin GA.
Fee: Check with your wedding venue
Vibe: Familiarity, cohesive story, confidence on wedding day, and meaningful memories.
Roswell Mills Waterfall
Listen, if you catch this spot on a weekday morning in the spring, summer, or fall time, you wont be disappointed! This location has a lot of natural sets you can shoot on including a huge waterfall. Plus some nice little urban areas that have a French tudor style vibe. Don't forget the iconic bridge! And its Free!!! Scroll through the carousel to see the variety of textures and landscapes!

Jackon St Bridge, Downtown
Shooting engagement photos at Jackson Street Bridge delivers iconic Atlanta skyline views with a bold, cinematic edge. The elevated perspective, dramatic sunsets, and city lights create striking, editorial images that feel modern, intimate, and undeniably Atlanta. It is a little risky due to oncoming traffic, so be prepared and check with your photographer they are willing to jump into oncoming traffic for ya!

Millenium Gate Museum
Shooting at the Millennium Gate Museum gives your engagement photos a striking blend of classical grandeur and urban flair. Situated in the heart of Atlantic Station, its refined stonework and open spaces make for romantic, timeless images that feel both city-sophisticated and uniquely memorable

First Church of Christ Scientist, Atlanta
This location is perfect for photography thanks to its classic architecture, symmetry, and timeless elegance. The tall columns and stone details create clean lines, while surrounding greenery adds softness and depth. With versatile angles and neutral tones, it offers polished, romantic images in any season - from grand, wide shots to intimate moments between columns and along the steps.

Barrington Hall, Roswell
Elegant, historic Southern charm with lush greenery and timeless architecture — Barrington Hall offers a romantic, refined backdrop that feels both classic and intimate. Its grand columns, beautiful gardens, and historic details create naturally flattering light, depth, and variety in every shot. Whether framed beneath oak trees or along stately walkways, photos here carry a warm, timeless vibe perfect for celebrating love. Also bonus - it's right across street from Roswell Mills, so you can easily hit both locations in a two hour shoot.

Callenwolde Fine Arts Center, Druid Hills
Shooting at Callanwolde just hits different. Between the grand staircases, open archways, and quiet garden spots, it feels like you’re on a European estate without ever leaving Atlanta. There is a fee to shoot here, but for the luxury look and vibe you get, it’s honestly worth it.

Old Fourth Ward Park/East Side Belt line
This is one of my Favorites! Shooting along the Eastside Atlanta BeltLine and Historic Fourth Ward Park offers a perfect mix of modern city energy and natural beauty. Sleek architecture, water features, and skyline views blend effortlessly with greenery, open spaces, and soft light. It’s an ideal setting for photos that feel contemporary, dynamic, and unmistakably Atlanta

The Buford Community Center
Perfect for couples who want a polished, editorial look with a touch of Southern charm. The light inside is beautiful, the staircases and columns give you so much variety, and everything feels clean, classic, and easy to work with. It’s one of those locations where you can relax, move around naturally, and end up with really timeless images without trying too hard. Bonus - they have really nice restrooms for wardrobe changes and a nice theater we can sometimes utilize!

Westside Provisions District
This is such a fun location, especially if you want a more candid, lifestyle feel to your engagement photos. Westside Provisions District has that effortless mix of modern architecture, greenery, and city energy that makes everything feel natural and unstaged. Grab an ice cream cone at Jeni’s, stroll hand-in-hand, pop into a few shops, and just be yourselves—we’ll take care of capturing the magic in between. It’s relaxed, stylish, and perfect for couples who want photos that feel like real life, but elevated
